Collectively

We drew

All these ridiculous lines

Between you and me.

Globally

Economically

Anatomically

Philosophically

Ideologically

Methodically

Killing We.

Illogically

Selling the idea

That diversified

= Adversified

Lamenting our disconnection

While walking the other direction

Using deflection

As a layer of protection.

Passing judgment

Critical and repugnant

If others are our mirrors

We need an adjustment.

Our human dissonance

Can no longer be blamed

On ignorance

Or innocence.

What if we

Could learn to see

The variety

In humanity

As simply

An opportunity

For our chorus

Of beautiful voices

To be harmonies?

I make peace with You.

I make peace with Me.

Each of us

Recognized,

Prioritized,

And I-dentified,

As in

I identify as You.

I identify as We.

As in

There but for the grace of God go I.

As in

I am You are We.

Compassion does not

Require agreement.

Just drop your defenses

And see that

I am You are We.
